Janis was on the board of Koverse, a SaaS data management company selling to large enterprises such as Credit Suisse, PwC, Takaeda, and large federal government entities with backing from a strategic corporate venture capital firm she helped secure.in 2016. Koverse closed on an acquisition to SAIC in early May 2021. Janis was on the board from the board’s formation through its acquisition. She is also a board member for Ardian Technologies, a security first no code low code data management company spun out of a professional services company. Past board experience also includes Captura (sold to Concur), Chili!Soft (sold to Cobalt Networks), Lizard Tech (sold to AT&T), Performant (sold to Mercury Systems), RealityWorks, and Tidemark Computer Systems (sold to Accela). As CEO, Janis was on the Pinnacle Publishing and ChiliSoft! boards.

As a community and industry leader, Janis has volunteered tirelessly to help America live true to its values (Junior Achievement and Humane Society), establish Seattle as a high-tech leader (NWEN, Tech Alliance, WBBA, and WTIA) and to help make our region’s higher education institutions the most entrepreneurially productive in the country (Bellevue College, Lake Washington Institute of Technology, Seattle University, and the University of Washington). Her current nonprofit board is First Washington. Janis is an active member of Rotary International and is active in economic development in Island County where she resides

Janis holds an MBA with a concentration in marketing from the University of Iowa. She received her BA in 3 years with a double major in psychology and English from Augustana College (Rock Island, Illinois). Janis resides in Langley, Washington with her husband, David Stenberg, and two Dandie Dinmont Terriers. Her passions outside of corporate and public service roles are global travel, reading, contract bridge, and gourmet cooking.
